7. Time Waits For Norman
When Norman was supposedly spilling coffee all over his foot in the Bishop’s Stortford branch of Wimpy, he claims to have been in New York City... and numerous witnesses confirm he was.
But why would someone frame him doing something so mundane?
6. Danse Macabre
A skeleton-costumed murderer locks himself inside a stone-walled garage which is quickly surrounded by police, yet somehow spirits himself away without being seen.
Maddie initiates a solo investigation to begin with because Jonathan is busy frolicking in the bath with a singer of operatic arias.
5. The House of Monkeys
Dr. Elliott Strange is found dead in his locked office with a massive sword through his back.
The slight issue in identifying the perpetrator is that the room is locked from the inside, the windows barred, and nobody could possibly have escaped without being seen.
4. No Trace of Tracy
Surely prog-rock legend Roy Pilgrim didn’t abduct a schoolgirl? How could he, when he was handcuffed to a radiator, Terry Waite-style?
As he protests his innocence and a local cult back him to the hilt, his bitchy fiancée Francine loses faith in him.
3. The Reconstituted Corpse
Did Zola Zbzewski kill her ex-lover, surgeon David Curchin? No, apparently, because she had an iron-clad alibi.
A classic Creek episode in which Maddie’s love life comes firmly into focus and Jonathan can’t help but laugh at the outcome of her disastrous blind date.
2. Jack in the Box
Old-school jolly japester Jack Holliday is shot dead in a watertight nuclear bunker. How the heck did the killer escape?
Maddie and Jonathan team up for the second occasion, although her presence is resented by Jack’s family due to the fact she recently helped get his first wife’s murderer freed from prison.
1. The Wrestler’s Tomb
Artist Hedley Shale is found dead on his bedroom floor, having spent the morning indulging in bedroom frolics with a young model.
When crime writer Maddie Magellan becomes involved and subsequently encounters magician’s consultant Jonathan Creek, she realises that his brilliant lateral mind could help her find out what really happened.
